Back in Bauan

When is the best time to visit my dad's hometown? Right now, when I'm still on vacation. =) My grandmother really loved cats that even now that she's gone, cats still flock the house. These kittens are being cared for by my cousin:

It's good to be back. I've not visited for almost 2 or 3 years I think. Later that day,we ordered some empanadas at Ka Idro's, which is just around the block. Their empanadas were so nasty, we bought a sackful... not really.


Then a little later, went to the town plaza where a bazaar is taking place. Just across is the church and school. No small town is complete without a church, Spanish style.

Here is a little monument which is also in the plaza. In memory of those who fought during the 2nd World War.

Oh yeah. Walking back to the house, we saw dad talking to one of his childhood friends, who happens to be the son of the baker, Ka Idro. We were invited to view his aviary:

These are just a few of the pets. Not pictured is a big cage. Cool eh?
